STONEHOUSE LAKE: This beautiful ‘cedar-log cabin’ is the only camp on the lake which is inside the ‘Arctic-
Watershed’, on the ‘Grew River’ system-famous for its abundance of large walleyes and lunker size northern pike.
While Stonehouse is smaller (approximately 2 miles long), the fishing is just as exciting as on the larger Jay-Vee Lake. Remember, you’re still fishing the same waters, as it’s just north of and downstream from Jay-Vee. Also, there are rapids at both the inlet from Jay-Vee (just around the corner from the camp), and at the outlet.
There is quite a wide range of structure , ranging from shallow weedy areas (great for those‘Giant’Northern Pike), to shallow rock shoreline, and some deep holes for walleyes.
This is a very safe lake to fish and those who have fished it, all comment what they liked most about this camp, aside from the fabulous fishing, is the size of the lake.
There is a real feeling of cozy remoteness, and it never gets very rough. You cannot get lost on this lake, and you will never get blown off it either!
I’ve fished here with my family and friends for nearly 40 years and it’s definitely my favourite lake, and is for all who have fished here. I highly recommend it for groups of all ages.
You don’t have to be an ‘experienced fisherman’ to get fabulous action here! Even children and those who have never fished before, catch fish here, and lots of them!
